For those of you who want the latest features of Google HDR+ camera from Pixel 2 on your Nexus 6P or 5X or Pixel, you can grab the Camera NX, which is an open-source modded camera APK that will give you a modded Google HDR+ camera with working portrait mode. This camera app is highly-recommended over stock camera as you get the additional portrait mode, especially for the front camera. By using this modded Google HDR+ camera, your camera performance nears that of latest Pixel 2 and possible better photos in certain situations.

For those of you who want to take advantage of Pixel 2’s HDR+ processing capabilities on your Samsung Galaxy S9, S9 Plus or any other Android smartphone, you can now use the latest ported Google HDR+ camera which has been tested to work on the latest Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus also. Currently I have tested many other devices including Galaxy S8, S8+, S7, S7 Edge, LG G6, LG V20, and they all work well. This APK should also work on all Android smartphones except for a few. It doesn’t hurt to try so just try it first and you have nothing to lose since you can simply uninstall it if it does not work out for you.
For those of you with any Samsung Galaxy smartphone(such as Galaxy Note 8, S8+, S8, S7, S7 Edge, S6, S6 Edge, etc…etc…), you can now get Google HDR camera working on your phone with BOTH front and back portrait mode working.
This Google HDR+ Pixel 2 Camera works on the following models:Galaxy Note 8 Exynos/Snapdragon Galaxy S8/S8 Plus Exynos/Snapdragon Galaxy S7/S7 Edge Exynos/Snapdragon Galaxy S6/S6 Edge/S6 Edge Plus Galaxy Note 5 Galaxy S5 Exynos/Snapdragon
I’ve tested the Google HDR+ camera APK on my Samsung Galaxy Note 8 and S8(Snapdragon) for about a week, they both work flawless and bring additional HDR mode to non-Pixel phones. If you need extra 1-2 stops of dynamic range on your photos, Google HDR+ mode will give you exactly that(and make sure you have it on when using the camera!), bright areas exposured correctly.
Missing official Google Camera on your Pixel or Pixel XL? This can happen after installing a custom ROM as they don’t usually come with Google Camera. If you have trouble, you can always manually download and install the official Google Camera APK for the Pixel, simply use the download link below, download the Google Camera APK file, then install with a File Manager app such as ES File Explorer.
For those of you already running the latest Android 7.0 Nougat on your Nexus 6P or 5X, you are in luck as Google Pixel smartphone’s camera APK is now available to install. We haven’t yet tested with other devices that are running Android 7.0 Nougat custom ROMs but they may also work (please try it and let us know in the comment box).
For those of you who need the latest Google Camera APK file because Play Store no longer offers it, you can grab the latest version 3.2.045 here.
Installation is easy, simply allow “Unknown sources” in Settings on your Android device and install the APK file.
If you are using custom ROMs and they are missing Google Camera APK such as the Nexus 6P, you can use this APK file to get it back easily.
